OUR BELIEFS
We believe in one eternal God who created of all things out of nothing and continues to create. He exists in three persons, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
We believe that God loves each and every person and desires a vibrant relationship with each of us so that we might discover abundant life with Him both in this world and in the next.
We believe that sin has separated us from God, and from the relationship He desires with us.
We believe that Jesus Christ as both God and man, is the only one who can reconcile us to God.
We believe that Jesus lived a sinless life, and that He was the only one who could offer enough—His life, so that our sins won’t come between God and us.
We believe Jesus rose from the dead to demonstrate His victory over death. He is currently alive and active in our world today and is revealing Himself to everyone, but not everyone wants to see Him.
We believe that God offers everyone, forgiveness of sins, reconciliation to God and the gift of eternal life. However, it is only when we turn to Jesus and take Him on for ourselves, that this is made a reality in our lives.
We believe that those who have turned to Jesus also receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit enables Christians to become like Christ (although not completely) and equips them to serve with spiritual gifts.
We believe that the Bible is God’s Word, and it is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives.
It is our joy, as the community at Sunset Rock who follow Jesus, to serve Him by offering His love to all people through both word and deed. All who come into our midst are welcome to share in this love.

Please Note: The Sunset Rock “Premises” includes all or any part of the buildings and the surrounding land owned by the Uniting Church
CATASTROPHIC FIRE DAYS
On days where the CFS has issued a “Catastrophic Fire Danger Rating” for the Mt Lofty Ranges, Church services and any other Church gatherings at the church premises will be cancelled.
ALCOHOL ON SUNSET ROCK PREMISES
If a person or group who hire the premises wish to use alcohol, then permission needs to first be gained from the Sunset Rock Church Council
ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS CONSISTENT WITH OUR BELIEFS
- Any activity or ceremony that worships or edifies or invokes any power of any person, spirit or object resembling or attesting to be a deity of any type, is not to be held on the premises or grounds of Sunset Rock.
- The Rites of Marriage of the Uniting Church in Australia is that marriage is between a man and a woman.
SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY
“Out of respect for people’s privacy, please seek their permission before taking photos of them at church or related church activities. Parent/guardians need to give consent for minors. You will need to indicate what you intend to do with the images you take.“
